I recently got back from Jack Canfield's seminar in Boston called "One Day to Greatness". I've been reading his books for years. My copy of his book The Success Principles is the most dog-eared in my library! It was truly an amazing experience to finally meet this influential man in person! He is authentic, upbeat, and inspiring. My favorite takeaway from seeing Jack is this top 10 list. Watch it here!
1. Take 100% responsibility. Take ownership for everything you do. Refuse to pay the blame game. Remember, while events are often out of our control, your response can influence the outcome.
Event + Response = Outcome
2. Give up blaming and complaining. Stay focused on what you want, (rather than what you do not want). You'll attract what you put out there. Blaming and complaining requires focus on the negative.
3. Continue to set monthly, weekly, and daily goals. I do this with my planner. It's kept me focused and on-target, plus, it feels good to check things off on my planner! Another idea is to take up your top 5 priority actions daily.
4.)Replace negative self-talk with positive self-talk. We navigate towards the negative; it’s kind of a default for us humans, isn’t it?! Use affirmations if you need to as you work on changing the recording in your head. Speak kindly to yourself.
5.) Surround yourself with positive people. There is a saying, You become like the people you hang around with. yourself with the 5 most people you hang out with most.
6.)Practice “Rule of 5” and “Hour of Power.” The “Rule of 5” means focusing on your top 5 daily, weekly or monthly priorities. According to Jack, this is 20 minutes of meditation or prayer, 20 minutes of visualization, and 20 minutes of exercise.
7.)Believe that it is possible. Believe in yourself, have confidence in your abilities, have faith in a Higher Power! All these are “ingredients” to help you achieve greatness in your life.

10.)Be in a constant state of gratitude. This is important. Do you keep a gratitude journal? Do you wake up in the morning with gratitude that I am awake, healthy, I am …You may hate your job. But, doesn’t it pay your bills?
